Itsekiri students across the world have been tasked on the need to speak Itsekiri Language everywhere they gather so as to save the language from extinction and create the necessary platform for development of Iwere Nation.
President of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro gave the charge Sunday January 27 on behalf of National Adviser and Patron of National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS, Sir A .S. Mene, during the inauguration of a new National executive of NAIS.
Comrade Agbateyiniro commended the Itsekiri students' body for “displaying a high level of maturity by conducting a credible election, leading to the inauguration of new executive”, just as he assured the students that their demands bothering on welfare will be channeled to the appropriate quarters.
The new NAIS President, Comrade Allwell Ojor Adagba in his inaugural address, promised to execute his plans in accordance with the rules and regulations guiding the association, adding that with the cooperation of the executive, new positive things will be achieved.
Adagba thanked members of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG and those who supported them, while also appealing for more support from other well-meaning individuals.
Fresh Angle International can report that Comrade Adagba vowed to lead Itsekiri students to imbibe the culture of quality character and be good ambassadors of Itsekiri Nation.
