Exclusive: Quick response saves Warri River Manifold from explosion
Fire fighters putting out the inferno

A major disaster was averted at about 1pm today, Monday January 6, when fire engulfed an estimated 200 feet stretch of land, covering Hydrocarbon line which connects Warri River Manifold at Egbokodo in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Fresh Angle International can report that the inferno was allegedly caused by unknown fire-trigger substance thrown at the front of the light bush path/hydrocarbon line, by two children coming from school.

Vice Chairman of Egbokodo Community Trust, Mr. Sunny Atiwa, told a delegation from Warri South Local Government Executive that quick response from the locals and fire-fighting trucks from Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, NPDC as well Heritage Energy, prevented the inferno from blowing up the Warri River Manifold, the entire hydrocarbon line as well as consuming lives and properties.

An official of Heritage Energy (Operators of the Manifold) Victor Orugbo, noted that the prompt response prevented the inferno from interrupting the company’s operations.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, who was represented by his Vice, Chief Divine Iniovosa, restated his earlier call for people of the area to exercise extreme caution during this Harmattan season.

Dr. Tidi expressed joy that the inferno was quickly put-out to avoid a major disaster.
