Rainstorm wrecks havoc at Bomadi Council Secretariat

A strong and whirling early morning rainstorm has wrecked havoc in Bomadi Local Government Council Secretariat, destroying the walkway linking the council chairman's office and the political block housing the vice chairman's office, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

The storm, which many described as most wild in recent months, ripped through the town about 2: am during the night and also affected some roof tops belonging to residents and few solar lights. The over 100 meters walkway was pulled down to the surprise of workers who resumed work only to see a section of the secretariat destroyed.

The destructive storm was accompanied by a heavy downpour that lasted for the rest part of the night. Some Staff, who expressed shock at the damage, said the urgent need to reconstruct the walkway may well set the pace for the new administration in the council to begin.

Meanwhile, authorities of the council were seen evacuating and clearing the damage caused by the storm, while the HOD of Works in the Council, Mr. Onyekachukwu Agbabi who spoke via mobile phone described the incident as a natural disaster, even as he quipped that he has directed the technical unit of the department to clear the site.
