Waters of passage

I want to sit by the coconut tree
Standing free from mad realities
And relish its rollicking dance
Always in tune with the ocean breeze.

I want to look into the ocean waters
And stone questions for answers
Assured of gentle kisses of my feet
By silts of hope for a better world.

I will pick those priceless gifts
Given free by the ocean goddess
Who once lifted my countryman from
Nobody to somebody.

Someone laughed at my archaic sense
And tagged it humour in every sense
The Ocean goddess hates filth
I must come clean to meet her face.

I want to commune with the owners
Of our land, forests, rivers and oceans
Take me to Badagri beach where truth
Speaks loud of the past and present.

Whao! My dream has come true
Calmly on the back of the coconut tree
I rest my back listening to windy songs
Pointers to true freedom.

Beyond the void, I could see
The reality of freedom, I could feel
The presence of the owner of
Bondage and freedom, I could sense.
