Unknown gunmen today Saturday, October 29 assassinated the Chairman of Wuro Miyeti Allah, in Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakah, Fresh Angle International can report.

The assassination which took place at the victim’s home at Road 3 of Peace Community along Ganaja Ajaokuta Road Lokoja during the wee hour of 2.05AM, saw residents of the community gripped with fear and panic for over one hour that the armed bandits operated.

Eye witnesses who spoke with Our Roving National Correspondent report that the hoodlums of about 8 men or more, were able to beat the intelligence of Police Operatives attached to ‘C’ Division Lokoja as they passed through an unfamiliar route to gain entrance to the resident of their victim.

They alleged that killing was carried out by some suspected Fulani Herdsmen. A neighbour to the deceased, who simply identified himself as Musa said, before the culpable homicide was carried out in the neighbourhood, he saw some strange faces passing within the vicinity not knowing they have another motive in that area.

Musa said the deceased who left behind two wives and children, was machete and shot in different parts of his body when the culprits gained access to one of his wife room after forcing the door open through gunshot.

A Doctor attached to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja Dr. Sam Alhassan who conducted an autopsy to affirm the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakah, gave his account of what transpired as his house is close to where the incident occurred.

He said, "I was in my room which is just steps away to his house and I started hearing gunshot.  Then I rose up from my bed and I began to look through the window. I saw a group of bandits in two lines. At least I saw eight people, and they started shooting, shooting, and shooting.  The next thing that I saw was that a bullet hit the overhead tank and water started draining down. Later me and my family went quiet for a while then wife of the deceased came out and said they have killed my husband.

On seeing that, my Landlord who is a Security Officer went inside to go and ascertain this fact, that the man is actually dead.  I went inside also, I saw Alhaji in a pool of blood, with his live-less body with machete marks".

Dr. Alhassan called for proactive measures from security operatives noting this is the time of such an occurrence in the community.

It was however unclear if the suspects who are currently on the run catered away with money or properties belonging to the family as relatives were not able to speak with the Press as at the time of filing this report.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya is yet to confirm this development as at the time of filing this report, while Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakah has been buried according to Islamic rites.
