The Chief Security Officer, CSO, Igbudu Market Warri, Comrade Olodia Orevaoghene Isaac, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to direct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, to retain the pipeline security contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Strong indications emerged that the pipeline security contracts awarded by the NNPCL to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited and other sub contractors, would expire this month, March 2026.
Enthused by the conflicting agitations surrounding possible review of the contracts, Comrade Orevaoghene, weighed-in on the conversation, saying Tantita is the only indigenous security company in Niger Delta, that rolls out large employment to the people, especially the youths.
“Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, has successfully and singlehandedly employed thousands of youths in Niger Delta, who are securing critical national assets”, he stated.
Comrade Orevaoghene, who is also Special Assistant on Security Matters to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, told Our Principal Correspondent, Tuesday March 10, that terminating Tantita pipeline security contract, would enable crude oil thieves return to the illicit business.
According to him, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, had successfully cleaned up the mess of pipeline vandalism and environmental pollution, caused by crude oil thieves, adding that the ugly and regrettable era must not return.
“I have said it before and I want to say it again, the host communities can testify that the operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, contributed to increased crude oil production and monthly allocations from FAAC to Federal, States and Local Governments” he emphasized.
Comrade Orevaoghene, posited that those calling on President Tinubu to terminate the contract of Tantita, do not mean well for President Tinubu, Nigeria and the Niger Delta Region.
He maintained that Federal government should weigh what he described as the laudable performance and achievements being made by Tantita and sustain the contract.
Comrade Orevaoghene, appealed to President Tinubu to strengthen the collaboration between the Federal government and Tantita Security Services Limited, for the interest of the country.
“The money illegal oil bunkers were making daily from illegal oil bunkering activities, is far more than the money the Federal Government is paying Tantita monthly”, he opined.
He commended High Chief Government Ekpemuplo alias Tompolo, Chairman of Tantita Security Services Limited, and his team, led by the Managing Director of Tantita, Chief Kestin Pondi “for doing a good job.”
