Chief Ayirimi Emami-Evolution of the new Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom
The Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami,

Born to the noble family of Chief Akonu Emami, one of Iwere Nation’s most hardworking Chiefs and Businessman.

Chief Ayirimi Emami, the new Ologbotsere (Prime Minister) of Warri Kingdom alias Atabrata is a Political Science graduate of Delta State University, Abraka. He rose from a home grown Iwere boy to a successful businessman, peace crusader, astute politician of National repute and a passionate advocate for the all-round development of Warri Kingdom in particular and the Niger Delta as a whole.

Geneology:

Ayirimi Emami who is happily married to Mrs. Asba Emami and blessed with two lovely children, is a descendant of Ajuwaoyiboyami Eyimisan (IYA) who was an influential son of Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Tosan Ekpen of Okere, Ejuetseolegho Miemie of Kantu, Unokanereorun (Kere) Ogitsi of Omadino and Kolokolo, Olueh of Ugborodo, all of Warri Kingdom, Tovwie of Okwagbe, Delta State and Ogunfeyinmi of Ugbo in Ondo State.

Contribution to Iwere Development:

Despite reservation by few, Chief Ayirimi Emami is arguably one of the most patriotic Itsekiris of the present generation. He works-the-talk and takes responsibility for the most difficult situations as it affects Itsekiri Nation, even when others are afraid to speak for different reasons. His immense contribution to the development of the prestine Warri Kingdom is encapsulated under the following sub heads:

Apart from paying the tuition fees of several indigent Itsekiris from basic education to tertiary level, Akulagba as he is fondly called has spent huge chunk of his hard earned resources to ferry pupils, students and teachers from Ugbuwangue Jetty in Warri Urban to Ode-Itsekiri and its adjourning communities since the end of Warri pogrom.

He has equally attracted scholarships and other educational support programmes such as capacity building opportunities to thousands of people no matter their tribe and religion. People of all creeds will attest to the fact that adequate care for human welfare is fundamental for productivity. The Biblical feeding of potential converts with loaves of bread and fishes by Jesus Christ before preaching the gospel lays credence to the afore-stated and it is on this premise that Chief Emami’s welfarist philosophy is founded.

Only a few are aware that Atabrata is instrumental to the installation of Glo Mobile Telecommunication Mast at Ode-Itsekiri, the traditional headquarters of Warri Kingdom and Akpakpa Ajudaibo in Ugborodo, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State. His decision to attract the masts is hinged on the fact that like good road network, communication is a necessary impetus for rapid development, especially in the coastal communities.

Infrastructural/Socio-Economic:

It’s incontrovertible that the only indigenous investment in the oil-rich Ugborodo Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area is 911 Beach & Resort, a brain child of Chief Ayirimi Emami. The essence of this modest investment which has been a victim of the protracted leadership crisis in Ugborodo was to provide a socio-economic base for the eventual development of Warri South-West Local Government Area. The proximity of its location to Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, Ondo State and operations of the International Oil Companies, IOCs, remains exemplary till date. The access to petroleum products at affordable prices at Ugborodo and environs, courtesy of A&E Petrol, another business concern of Chief Emami is more patriotic than business oriented.

The widely traveled Niger Delta Activist cum Warri Chief has situated majority of his investments in Warri Kingdom, despite the inherent challenge of doing business in the Niger Delta. His Filling (Gas) Stations, hotel, entertainment ventures and unparallel philanthropic gestures have created thousands of jobs cum wealth as well as gone a long way in boosting the social life of Warri Kingdom, which suffered greatly as a result of Warri crisis. He contributed immensely towards the construction of Olu Palaces in Warri and Ode-Itsekiri.

Looking Ahead:

Chief Emami’s personal struggles toward the actualization of the Gas Revolution Industrial Park, GRIP Project in Ugborodo, annual sponsorship of the historic Okiroro Festival of Okere (otherwise called Awankere Festival) peaceful transition and installation of our revered Monarchs as well as other efforts to sustain the rich Itsekiri cultural heritage are some of his selfless service/investment for the future development of the great Warri Kingdom and Niger Delta in general.

There is no gainsaying the fact that Chief Ayirimi Emami has truly emerged as a foremost Itsekiri patriot deserving of the position of Ologbotsere (Prime Minister) of Warri Kingdom.
