Warri Economic Summit attracts mega Chinese investment

A major Chinese investment with the potential of engaging thousands of direct and indirect employment is about to be established at Ukpokiti,an Island near Omadino in Warri South Local Government Area, courtesy of the recently held maiden Warri Economic Summit.

Fresh Angle International can report that this much was revealed Friday June 29 when management of the Chinese company, Yong Xing Steel and a team of the company's consulting firm, Finest Investment paid a working visit to the executive of Warri South Local Government Council led by the local government chairman, Hon. Michael Tidi at the council main secretariat in Warri.             

Yong Xing Steel which has been operating in Edo State for the past six years,specializes in the manufacturing of nails,iron rods and sheets, tiles, Chinese Doors, plastics and glass.        

An indigene of Ukpokiti Community, Mr. Otomewo Emmanuel who led officials of Yong Xing Steel Company and Finest Investment,stressed on the peaceful and conducive environment in Ukpokiti Community and Warri South Local Government in general.        

While noting that the Chinese investors indicated interest in establishing the company in Warri as a result of the recent Warri Economic Summit organized by Warri South Local Government Council in partnership with Warri Economic Summit Group, Mr. Otomewo appealed to the Warri South Council Boss to use his good office to address the construction of a bridge that will link Ukpokiti to Omadino.           

The Managing Director of Yong Xing Steel, Zhang Xianghai in a message through the company's Director of Public Relations, Lady Cherry,assured that they were ready to attract more Chinese companies to do business in Warri and Delta State in general, if the right atmosphere is created for their business to thrive.        

While noting that Warri people are hard-working, Cherry appealed to Warri South Chairman to assist in the area of power and access bridge, which are critical to their investment, just as they expressed optimism that raw materials such as scraps needed for their operation are readily available in Warri area.    

An elated Warri South Chairman, Hon. Michael Tidi assured the investors of his administration's support and promised the Chinese firm that return on their investment will be swift.
