A group of Niger Delta Ex-militants under the aegis of Assembly of Niger Delta Ex-militants, ANDE, has unanimously endorsed the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwakwanso, for the position of the President on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This decision according to the group who spoke through its National Coordinator, Boi Dafiagor, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital was arrived at through the vehicle of logic and consideration for popularity as was the subject of a well attended meeting of notable ex-militants and youth of the region who are APC faithful after a wide consultations with stakeholders in the Nigerian project.
Drawn from all nooks and crannies of the region, ANDE according to the Coordinator boast of over 10,000 memberships among who are notable voices of the Delta region.
According to Dafiagor, Kwakwanso is the only detribalised leader of the broom party from the north with the needed broad mind to steer the ship of the Nigerian State to safety adding that he alone can stabilise the polity while carrying everyone along.
ANDE stated in an unequivocal manner that it has being in every inch of the journey of the APC even when such decision was suicidal in the region as it call on the leadership of the APC to ensure that the former governor flies the party's flag in 2019, noting that he alone outside the 'ailing' incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, can win election for the party from the northern region.
Dafiagor further stated that the group has started what he described as House-to-House consultation in the region to bring every Niger Deltan on board of the 'political ship of Rabiu Kwakwanso' adding that with the arrangement made by the group, only God can stop the former governor from becoming the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We are mobilising the Niger Delta population for the emergence of our own Rabiu Kwakwanso, as the President of Nigeria and we are calling on our party - APC to field this weird character that has all it takes to preside over the affairs of our great nation. This call becomes very necessary as we know that President Buhari wouldn't be coming for a second term as decreed by nature, on this note, we calling on all concerned to put money aside and roll out the party machinery for our choice. He's the man through who the Niger Delta region can be better developed and our destiny assured. We have confidence in Kwakwanso as a time tested and trusted leader with the savvy to turn around the destiny of the Delta region while riding on the mantra of change and accelerated development. In him we are hopeful for a strong and reliably united nation.” Dafiagor stated, adding that the party shouldn't look in the direction of those who bought over through the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, our national patrimony using proxies in a flagrant abuse of office and massive corruption.
Nigeria as today, ANDE firth er averred has gone beyond 'rogues' who parade themselves as leaders and are standing with one leg in and the other out of the party for want of desperation to rule the country at all cost stressing that Kwakwanso has been a loyal and faithful to the APC and deserves the honour of flying it's flag.
“For those of in ANDE, we know members of the APC in the day and PDP at night. They are political merchants who hop from one party to the other without ideologies because they are driven by greed and voracious appetite for corruption. Our party should let such despicable character know that Nigeria is not for sale, neither is the party a habinger of rogues. As soon as possible, ANDE will organise the mother of all rallies to support Kwakwanso who is our second to none as far as 2019 is concerned. If sinks - God forbid, we shall sink with him and if he wins, his victory is equally ours. The bribe takers of APC should be warned because our live depend on 2019.” The group warned.
