University Dons to dissect strategies for sustaining peace in Warri, Delta

Three University Dons: Prof. Sunny Ahwefeada of Faculty of Arts, Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. Tony Afejuku and Prof. Chukwugozie Maduka, both of University of Benin, Edo State as well as renowned Warri based Constitutional Lawyer/Human Rights’ Activist, Dr. Akpor Mudiaga Odje, are expected to dissect strategies on how to sustain the prevailing peace in Warri and other parts of Delta State, come Tuesday March 31.

The Speakers would do justice to the subject matter during the maiden Warri Peace Conference 2020, slated for 10:00am (March 31) at CEDAR House Event Centre by Edjeba Junction, Airport Road in the Oil City of Warri.

Fresh Angle International can report that the event being put together by Association of Justices of The Peace, Warri South Division, in conjunction with Office of the Special Adviser to Governor of Delta State on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, will also X-ray the role of government, traditional rulers and youths in the peace-building project.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is expected as Special Guest of Honour, while the Member Representing, Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi (JP) will Chair the event.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, is the Chief Host and Chairman, Association of Justices of Peace, Warri South Local Government Chapter, Chief Patrick Yalaju (JP) is host of the upcoming grandeur occasion.

The array of eminent guests expected include: Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Marshal Umukoro, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Peter Mrakpor as well as Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, High Chief Edwin Uzor (JP).
