The Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defence, FJHD, has faulted President Goodluck Jonathan for suspending Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, insisting that without the approval of a two-third majority of the Senate in line with section11 (7) of CBN act, 2007 and the provision of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the President was wrong in his decision despite explanations by the Presidency.
This position was made known by the National Coordinator of the FJHD, Barr. Oghenejabor Ikimi during FJHD monthly human rights clinic held recently at Udu, headquarters of Udu local government area, Delta State.
While saluting the courage of Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in his fight "for public accountability while in office”, Barr. Ikimi called on the federal government to account for the missing 20 billion dollar oil money without any further delay, stressing that failure to do so “is punishable by mass protest”.
