The Warri South Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, WSSMPCSL on Thursday June 24, presented 100 bedspread and 100 pillowcases to the management of Central Hospital, Warri, to address the shortfall of beddings at the Maternal and Child Ward in the Hospital.

Our Correspondent, reports that the President of WSSMPCSL, Mr. Gabriel Agusogu, who led the WSSMPCSL delegation, to the office of the Zonal Medical Director, Dr. Patrick Omu, commended the management and staff of the secondary healthcare facility, “for working tirelessly to ensure patients get well”.

Mr. Agusogu, assured that whenever the need arises, WSSMPCSL is willing to do more for the Maternal and Child Ward.

He advised similiar organizations to follow section 69, sub-section 3 of the Cooperative bye-law which encouarges giving back to the society.

The Zonal Medical Director, Dr. Patrick Omu, who received the beddings on behalf of the hospital management, appreciated members of Warri South Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, for the donation, saying government alone cannot provide all the necessary infrastructures.

The Medic, stated: “With this only, I am sure we won’t lack in the area of bedspread”, adding that WSSMPCSL have done well as an organization, “unlike some, who go and party instead of helping out”.

Dr. Omu, opined: “If organizations do this, the country will be a better place”, just as he assured that the hospital management will make proper use of the bedspreads and pillowcases.

Those present during the donation, from hospital management include; The Zonal Matron; Mrs. Helen Odigie, Hospital Matron; Mrs. Nita Oke, Mrs. Osemeke; Hospital Administrator and Mrs. Success Obere; Public Relations Officer. While Deaconess Vera Towuaghantse; Vice President of WSSMPCSL, Mr. Ogedegbe Tuoyo; Treasurer, Mrs. Patricia Anyoma and Mrs. Gift Mawe, were among members of WSSMPCSL on ground during the presentation.

Recall that Fresh Angle Interantional had reported on May 15, 2020, how WSSMPCSL, donated food items, beverages and toiletries to the Catholic Old People’s Home in Warri.
