The Kogi State Chairman, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, Comrade Gabriel Amari, has tasked Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of love, sacrifice and good neighbourliness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

In a goodwill message to Muslims around the world, particularly the MHWUN, Amari explained that this year’s celebration is an opportunity to reflect and imbibe the exemplary virtues shown by Prophet Ibrahim.

He also congratulated all Nigerians who have undertaken the Holy Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia this year and wished them Allah’s mercies as they travel back home.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Amari urged Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the Eid el-Kabir to reflect on how the ideals and virtues of peace, harmony, brotherly love, selflessness, tolerance, honesty, fairness, justice and equity taught by Islam and other religions can be more extensively harnessed and deployed in addressing the developmental challenges confronting the nation.

Amari, enjoined all Muslim faithful and all Nigerians “to continue to persevere and pray for peace and progress as the nation is facing many challenges.

He also urged Kogites and all Nigerians to remain steadfast and committed to the cause of one, united and developed country.

Amari, however assured health workers in state that their welfare remains a top priority under his leadership.

“I heartily felicitate with our Muslim members, associates and partners of MHWUN and Nigerians on this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration. This year’s celebration is an opportunity for us to reflect and imbibe the exemplary virtues shown by Prophet Ibrahim.

“In the face of current economic and socio-political challenges such as high unemployment especially among the youths, an erosion of monetary value and increase in the cost of living due to high inflation rate, insecurity etc. I implore the people and the government of Nigeria to take a cue from one of the pillars of this celebration, which is sacrifice.

“Collectively, we must make sacrifices and do all it takes for Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole to recover and achieve sustainable, development of our dream”, he said.
