Don’t see us as enemy, Service Chief tells Nigerians

The Commanding Officer, 3BN Nigeria Army, Effurun, Delta State, Lt. Col. Okon Bassey says members of the public, especially those who are not in the military should not see any of the military personnel as enemies, even as he called on Nigerians to cooperate with the security agents in order to sustain the prevailing peace in the Niger Delta in general and the country at large.

The Service Chief made the declaration during this year’s World Peace Day celebration organized in Warri by Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS Warri Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ,

In his address, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, DBS Warri, Comrade Daniel Orji explained that they decided to celebrate this year’s world peace day in order to remind all and sundry on the need to sustain the prevailing peaceful co-existence amongst people in the Niger Delta.

He stressed that without peace, the right atmosphere for business to thrive would not be created.

The Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Kpoma reiterated the need for peace in the society and enjoined everyone to strive towards maintaining peace and security at all times wherever they live, work or do business.
