Your Excellency Sir
Fresh Call for Dr. Ibe Kachikwu’s Sack Is The Handiwork of Fraudulent Subsidy Claimers
Members of the aforementioned group comprises of Niger Deltans with credible character as evident in our different professional endeavours. We vigorously worked for your victory in the March 28, 2015 Presidential/National Assembly Polls against all odds from people of our region and are daily watching the careful implementation of your campaign promises despite all the challenges.
We will continue to back your administration in the struggle to set Nigeria on the genuine path of economic recovery, industrialization and infrastructural development, no matter the odds.
Sir, we must not forget to commend your unshaken courage in the difficult task of redefining our dear country, Nigeria after several years of profligacy, waste and monumental corruption.
There is no need to bore you with too much text, considering the huge responsibility long years of bad governance has placed on your administration. We would not have bothered to respond to an Open Letter addressed to you by MD of Oil Mogul Nigeria Limited, Nkemjika R. Igbikiowubo Esq on page 33 of the Guardian Newspaper of Wednesday April 6, calling for the sack of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, because like most reasonable Nigerians, we trust in your discerning mind and perfect understanding of the activities of fraudsters in the oil and gas industry.
Mr. President, the need to bother you a bit as you carefully peruse the 2016 budget detail just transmitted to you by the National Assembly with a view to accenting to it for historical implementation became imperative, considering the fact that Dr. Ibe Kachikwu’s accuser, Nkemjika R. Igbikiowubo Esq. has been a player in the oil and gas industry and his false claims are capable of deceiving gullible Nigerians.
Sir, after careful investigation, it became apparent that fake subsidy claimers whose fraudulent means of wealth has been stopped by ongoing reforms initiated by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources/Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu are behind the so called open letter to you by MD of Oil Mogul Nigeria Limited.
There is no doubt that the stoppage of oil subsidy by your administration and the saving of billions of Naira for infrastructural development through the undying efforts of Dr. Kachikwu is not going down well with a cabal, hence the desperation to blackmail your administration before Nigerians by frustrating free flow of products across the country via several devilish means.
Nigerians must understand that contrary to the allegation by sponsors of the advertorial, the Minister is not personally involved in the selection and imposition of contracts without regard to due process or competence and it is also not true that under Dr. Kachikwu’s watch, NAPIMS “has shamelessly” allotted high evaluation numbers to companies without proven technical track record or experience to undertake Offshore work on a “live production platform”.
Dr. Kachikwu was the Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil before his appointment and he now occupies the demanding Office of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources/GMD of NNPC.
With the onerous responsibility bestowed on him, coupled with the existence of fraudulent political and oil magnets determined to frustrate the Federal Government’s effort to solve the fuel crisis, it would not be out of place for the oil and gas Minister to occasionally hire jet to crisscross the country to check diversion of petroleum products and vandalism. Nigerians should also seek to know why despite the importation of millions of metric tons of PMS, Petroleum Marketers are involved in diversion of fuel. It is therefore surprising that crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country occasionally with hired jet to monitor distribution of PMS is an issue for Dr. Kachikwu’s biased critics.
Your Excellency, permit us to ask where the likes of Nkemjika R. Igbikiowubo Esq. were, when the last administration literally abandoned the country’s four refineries and almost reduced its infrastructures to scrap, while massive sleaze took place in the oil and gas sector in the hugely corrupt crude oil swap deal as well as importation of refined products. Probably the vigorous attempt to bring the four refineries back on stream with strategic policy to encourage multinational/private sectors to urgently embark on Modular and other forms of Refinery projects by your administration with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Kachikwu as the arrowhead in a bid to stop or drastically reduce importation of refined products and permanently end fuel scarcity is one pill too bitter to swallow for the likes of Nkemjika Igbikiowubo Esq.
It is amazing why himself and his cohorts who pretend to love Nigerians more than the tireless oil and gas technocrat, Dr. Kachikwu did not openly or secretly condemn the economic sabotage executed against the Nation by the so called Niger Delta Militants who brazenly blew up the Forcados Terminal in Burutu Local Government Area and The Escravos Crude as well as Gas pipelines in Warri South-West Local Government Area, both in Delta State. This is not also forgetting similar economic terror against the country carried out in Bayelsa and other States through vandalism of electricity and crude oil lines as well as sea piracy.
It is common knowledge that destruction is very easy, but construction of real infrastructures takes a long time. The silence of Nkemjika Igbikiowubo Esq. and his co-travelers when Federal Government owned depots across the country like Benin, Ore, Mosimi were neglected for 12 years of PDP administration gives reason to be suspicious of their real intention and to imagine that Dr. Ibe Kachikwu who is working round the clock to fix the abandoned Federal Government depots and ensure that the privately owned ones take up their responsibility is being criticized gives an impression that there is more to the so called open letter Igbikiowubo Esq addressed to you, Mr. President.
The Minister is equally having sleepless nights to repair vital crude oil and gas lines from Warri to Escravos as well as other parts of the country, yet all he is getting is unfair criticism rather than commendations.
Sir, you are respected all over the world for your impeccable integrity and your choice of Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu to handle such sensitive positions considering his credible background and track record is definitely putting a square peg in a round hole, as such I trust you to out-rightly ignore the evil as well as diversionary call for the sack of Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.
Thank you sir for listening to voice of reasoning
Erefoluwa Keka Misan Ogbegbe
