An unnamed self confessed member of a kidnap gang allegedly found lying unconscious along Sapele-Benin expressway by the Police in Delta State has died on his way to the hospital, a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu has revealed.

The statement which was made available to Fresh Angle International revealed that before his death, the man disclosed to the Police that his kidnap gang members beat him to stupor and abandoned him for betraying them.

He reportedly opened up to the police that members of his kidnapping syndicate were responsible for the kidnap of Chief Orovwighose Prince of Mosogar in Ethiope West local Government Area, who died in their custody.

Our Correspondent reports that the confession of the kidnap suspect who later died, led to the recovery of a Volkswagen Jetta Car with Reg. No. PRN 127 AA and the arrest of one Richard Omoniyi of Mosogar, whom he claimed is a member of the gang.

Items purportedly recovered from Richard Omoniyi include a locally made pistol with one cartridge and the Volkwagen Jetta Car.
