The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Aliyu Umar Yusuf has inaugurated the Assembly's Standing Committee on Establishment, Training, Pension and Public Services with a charge to ensure the discharge of its duties effectively.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Rt. Hon. Yusuf, stated this in Lokoja on Thursday during the inauguration.
This is contained in a press signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed and made available to journalists.
Speaking, the Chairman of the committee, Hon Abbas Ibrahim said the committee's role is to oversee the activities of various Establishments, Departments, and Agencies.
He noted that the legislative-Executive partnership was aimed at promoting a positive working relationship between the two arms of government.
The Committee Chairman stressed the need for partnership to promote a positive working relationship, ensure responsible use of public funds and facilitate effective execution of projects within the establishments under its purview.
The State Head of Service, Mrs Hanna Odiyo had also expressed the determination of her office to ensure wholesome cooperation with the committee and wished the legislators a fruitful working relationship.
