The Niger Delta Avengers has again restated their links with the Biafra by calling on all security operatives still keeping them in their custody to immediately release them or face another barrage of attack, even as the group insisted they will not negotiate with the Federal government.

In what they claim as their final warning to seven governors of the region they said police and military operatives would face their full wrath if they fail to obey the release order. They listed the Governors to include that of Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa and Delta States. Others are Governor of Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States respectively.

In a statement by the NDA spokesperson, Mudoch Aginigbo,, they issued a 72 –hours ultimatum to these governor to release Pro-Biafra supporters held in their various states. But Movement for Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, in a statement by its spokesman, Gbomo Jomo said the group is prepared for dialogue with the Federal Government and have nominated what they called very credible personalities from the region to represent them in the talks with the government.

The NDA statement reads in part: “We request the immediate release of all Pro-Biafra activists held in your various police/military custody. You are hereby given 72-hours to release them or risk your convoys, police station, military base and Government offices being attacked”.

“We are not negotiating with anybody and nobody is representing us. In 48 hours we will release a video clip showing our arms and the targeted areas”.

In another development, spokesman of the defunct Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force, JNDLF, Capt. Mark Anthony has stated they the so-called current agitators going by the nomenclature are impostors who are only out to desecrate the name of the group led by former war-lord John Togo feigning to be agitating for the betterment of the people of the region while in fact they are criminals that should be severely dealt with.

“We want to categorically warn the Avengers not to create fake emails by sending threats to FG, posing as late John Togo boys in order to drag us into their selfish fight over lost contracts with the current government. Avengers are technically only trying to blackmail NDLF because we openly condemned their bombings and proposed Niger Delta republic”, the statement concluded.
