The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli has restated his earlier decision that the leadership of Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC stands dissolved, stressing that he won’t rescind his position.

The Austin Oniyesan led executive of IRDC controversially sworn-in by the member representing Warri North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Diden had dragged a proposed fresh executive of IRDC purportedly having the blessing of the Olu of Warri to a Delta State High Court, Sapele before the case was moved to Asaba.

The Warri Monarch who reiterated his stance Tuesday July 26 when he received the new executive of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG led by Comrade Collins Edema at his Palace in Warri, disclosed his plans to collate data base of all Itsekiri graduates with a view to seeking employment opportunities for them.

While emphasizing that any Itsekiri who is more than 40 years old should leave youth bodies and join the “men to develop their communities”, The Olu noted that the era of ‘seat-tight executive’ in any community was over.

He assured the Itsekiri graduates’ body that things will change for the better in Warri Kingdom, saying the tremendous transformation going on in the Kingdom under his leadership will continue to improve the lives as well as living conditions of his subjects.

The First-Class Traditional Ruler frowned at those selling Itsekiri job slots to non- Itsekiris and admonished those responsible to desist forthwith or face the consequences.

While calling on Itsekiri graduates to support his determination to bring sustainable peace, unity and development in Warri Kingdom, he averred that he has dissolved Omadino Community Trust and the Palace has set-up a 10-man Management Committee to manage the affairs of the community for the next one year.

In his remark, National President of NAIG, Comrade Collins Edema declared that all lands in Warri Kingdom are under the Lordship of the Olu of Warri, calling on all those who intend doing business concerning Itsekiri Nation to deal with the Olu of Warri.

Comrade Edema assured the Monarch of absolute support of Itsekiri graduates across the world in his determination to bring positive change to Warri Kingdom.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Itsekiri graduates’ President explained to the Olu that the essence of their visit was to introduce members of the new NAIG executive to him.
