Proposed NDDC Board is injustice to Itsekiri, HOSTCOM Youths petition Buhari

As the controversy rages over the nomination of Adjogbe Ajenakevwe as member of the proposed Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Board, the Youth Wing of Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the nomination of Ajenakevwe, an Urhobo from Delta State as “an act of injustice and marginalization” on the Itsekiri people.

The petition signed by HOSTCOM Youth Wing Leader, Itsekiri Chapter, Comrade Benson Erewa , Deputy Youth Leader, Comrade Ajemijeroma Gabriel Mene-Ejegi, the Youth Coordinator for Warri South, Comrade Stanley Amiwero, HOSTCOM Youth Coordinator for Warri North, Comrade Bawo Omajugho and the Warri South-West Coordinator, Comrade Wesley Madamedon appealed to President Buhari to revisit the nomination of Adjogbe Ajenakevwe as Executive Director Projects, EDP in the proposed  NDDC Board in the interest of equity, justice and fairness, “so as to create a sense of belonging to the Itsekiris”.

According to HOSTCOM, Itsekiri Youth Wing, an Itsekiri person should be allowed to complete the remaining two years in the NDDC Board since Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli served for only two years before President Muhammadu Buhari dissolved the former Board December 2015.

The petition which copied The Senate President, The Chairman Senate Committee on NDDC, The Olu of Warri and prominent Niger Delta Activist, Chief Rita Lori Ogbebor, made reference to similar cases of appointments in NDDC Board where appointees of Urhobo, Ijaw and Isoko ethnic stocks were replaced with their kinsmen to complete the statutory four years.
