Repeated diatribe against Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan by NDJTF and AIC, sponsored by persons from Urhobo Nation – NDGC, declares

The Niger Delta Grassroot Coalition, NDGC, has bare fang on the Niger Delta Forum For Truth and Justice, NDFTJ as well as the Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus, AIC, saying the repeated diatribe against the current Executive Vice President Upstream of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, are sponsored by some persons from the Urhobo Nation.

The allegation by the Niger Delta Grassroot Coalition, was contained in an electronic statement sent to Fresh Angle International, this morning, Friday February 2.

The NDGC, in the statement signed by its Coordinator, Prince Edema Collins and Publicity Secretary/Spokesman, Eyikimi Franklin Indiamin, averred: “We wonder when and how both the faceless NDFTJ and sponsored AIC, have become part of the management of NNPCL to petition the EVP Upstream over what the later has referred to as "usurpation and distraction to the present Management under Mele Kolo Kyari. 

“The un-ending blackmail against the Executive Vice-President Upstream NNPC limited-Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan; playing a dangerous ethnic card.”

The group, further noted in parts: The attention of the Niger Delta Grassroot Coalition has been drawn to a publication made by the Niger Delta Forum For Truth and Justice, NDFTJ on pages 11 of the Leadership Newspaper on Monday January 29, 2024, and another by the Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus, AIC on some online news outlet and other media on Tuesday January 30, 2024.

“The AIC who styled itself as a Northen Socio-Political group tried unsuccessfully to carry out their campaign of calumny and blackmail against the current Executive Vice President Upstream of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) over what they termed as "ethnic bias and high handedness". 

“For the NDFTJ, it was a second publication (barely a week from their first publication) after perceiving the abysmal failure of their first sponsored publication, while for the AIC it is their first attempt at doing an unsuccessful hatchet job.

“We have carefully perused the contents of both publications and can conclude that the AIC is merely trying to do a hatchet job for the NDJTF, which has been formed primarily by some elements in the Niger Delta, especially some persons from the Urhobo Nation to blackmail the most successful career woman in the history of the NNPC Limited since its inception over five decades ago.

“As a statement of fact, it is understood that probably because of their naivety and blindness due to conflict of interest between separating meritocracy from ethnic sentiments they went overboard by stating that that Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan "no longer takes directive from her immediate Boss" the GCEO.

“For the records, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan has had a perfect relationship with her immediate Boss Malam Mele Kyari, and the entire NNPC Limited management and this is evident in the fact that she has represented the GCEO at different fora both within and outside the shores of Nigeria, especially within the last three weeks, including jointly inspecting the seized crude oil vessel at Oporoza in Warri South-West. 

“Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, whose career of over 30 years in both the private and public sectors has seen her risen to her current position as EVP Upstream of the NNPCL has been an astute, effervescent, clear-sighted, creative, decisive, discerning, innovative, inquisitive, intuitive, observant, quick-witted, resourceful, shrewd, tenacious, and sincere professional in her over 30 years career with sterling achievements which includes; "midwifing the first-ever non-associated gas commercialisation in Nigeria and delivered the renewal of Nigeria’s Deepwater Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) in record time, paving the way for over $10 billion in eco-friendly investments".

“With a cursory look at the recent spurious lies and allegations against Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, we perceived that her shrewd and tenacious way of handling her office may have become a threat to those who see the NNPCL as a political Canon folder for their nefarious activities in pillaging our common wealth.

“The claims of "unilateral decisions" in pipeline surveillance contract awards is not only evil, malicious, and preponderous, but also an indication that these political hirelings of the NDFTJ does not understand the mode of operations of the NNPCL. 

“It also shows how naive, ignorant,  and unfamiliar they are with the geographical location of the Niger Delta, which is evident in the statement that "she curried more favour to the Itsekiris,  her tribe at the expense of the Urhobos who were both entitled to the jobs".

“This statement clearly shows that the Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus (AIC) is the "voice of Jacob but hand of Esau".

“We want to implore the Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus, AIC to use their energy in assisting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the security situation in Abuja and other parts of the North, instead of being a meddlesome interloper in the NNPCL Management. 

“We wish to use this medium to call on the Arewa Consultative Forum and the Northern Elders Forum to call the leadership of the Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus (if they exist) to order as their unguarded utterances do not bode well for the Nation, especially at this critical time when Nigerians are grappling with kidnappings, terrorism, Etal in different parts of Nigeria.

“We want to state categorically that our Mother, Sister, and Daughter, the Executive Vice President Upstream of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) will not be cowed to kowtow to the whims and caprices of some unscrupulous elements, who have made themselves tools of ethnic bigotry and fanning embers of tribal war, to satisfy their greedy appetite for illicit wealth.”
