Outrage in Delta over killing of 34-year old father of twin by Police

There is growing outrage in Warri, Delta State over the controversial murder of a 34-year old father of twin, Engr. Omayone Simeon Dottie, allegedly by an unidentified Mobile Policemen attached to Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company, WRPC Pipeline along Ifiekporo in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

They said Omayone Dottie was purportedly shot thrice at about 6pm Sunday December 18 by an unidentified Policeman and was taken to NNPC Clinic, later Central Hospital, Warri, where he was confirmed dead, before his body was deposited at the Central Hospital, Warri Morgue.

Contrary to speculations, late Dottie was described as responsible man who loved peace and wasn’t involved in any illegal activities.

Irked by the ugly development, President of respected Itsekiri youth body, Itsekiri Native Youth Council, INYC, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro strongly condemned the killing of Engr. Omayone Dottie.

Comrade Agbateyiniro who issued a 48-hour ultimatum effective Monday December 19 to the Nigeria Police Force, the management of NNPC, NPDC, DPR and PPMC to immediately bring the culprit to book and stop the unwarranted killing of Itsekiris.

According to the INYC President, the avoidable murder of Dottie makes it the eight innocent indigene of Ifiekporo Community that has been murdered in extra judicial killings.

Chairman of Ifiekporo Community Trust, Comrade Edema Grifton in the chat with newsmen, called for the immediate withdrawal of Mobile Policemen from the community, saying the killing of their people is becoming alarming.

He also called on the Delta State Government and relevant authorities to fish out the culprit and put an end to the extra judicial killings.

Others who spoke to Our Senior Correspondent in deep pain are Ifiekporo Community Youth Chairman, Oritsema Owumi and pockets of women as well as youths.

They alleged that the unidentified Mobile Policeman came into their community, shot sporadically into the air and threatened to kill more people if they do not stay clear from them.

Wife of the victim, Mrs. Ama Dottie who was apparently in deep shock told Fresh Angle International that she called her late hubby not to walk towards the pipeline immediately they returned from a child dedication on the fateful day.

According to her, her husband was an easy going civil engineer doing his private practice before his gruesome murder.
