RE: SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT-HOW BROWN ONAJITE TESIGIMOJE FED NGERIANS WITH FALSEHOOD REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION OF UGBORODO AFFAIRS

Its’ quite unfortunate that one Brown Onajite Tesigimoje appears insensitive to burning security as well as socio-economic issues your administration inherited, which you are painstakingly addressing with a view to setting the path for a more progressive Nigeria. Attempting to distract your administration with a non- existent disagreement in Ugborodo Community, Warri South-West Local Government Area in Delta State, is indeed demeaning of the Office of President and Commander –In-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, especially at the beginning of another year with its attendant challenges.

Your Excellency, the author of an advertorial on page 25 in the Vanguard Newspaper of Friday, January 6, 2017 with the Rider ‘Setting The Records Straight’, in an attempt to respond to our previous Open Letter where we reminded him of certain critical realities, went further in his voyage of falsehood by either delving into matters he knows nothing about in the administration of Ugborodo Community or deliberately attempted to deceive the public.

Sir, in order not to belabor you and indeed all right thinking Nigerians, permit us to put the records straight.

Brown Onajite Tesigimoje stated, “that there is presently no existing Ugborodo Community Trust”, consequent upon the afore-stated, “the affairs of Ugborodo Community is presently being managed by the Traditional Authority/Institution, Elders Council and the Youth Wing Executives (sic)”, adding that this “shall be the position pending when a temporary organ chosen by and according to the people’s will and mandate is inaugurated by the Executive Governor of Delta State”. Interestingly, he stated in another breadth that he is “a member nominated from Ajudaibo Community in the yet to be inaugurated body”. This preceding phrase culled from his last advertorial undoubtedly confirmed our earlier position that “Delta State Government in-line with the Olu of Warri pronouncement did not dissolve the EPZ Interface Committee, but called on each community that make up Ugborodo (Ajudaibo, Madangho, Ijaghala, Ogidigben and Ode-Ugborodo) to submit the names of three representatives each, including 10 nominees from the Emma Meke dissolved Management Committee Executive to make up the Expanded EPZ Interface Committee Chaired by Barr. Austin Oborogbeyi”, perhaps Brown Tesigimoje knows another body His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, intends to inaugurate, which no one else is aware of.

 For clarity of purpose, it’s vitally important to state the following:

*Ugborodo Community Trust is an incorporated body saddled with administrative responsibility of running Ugborodo Community.

*There is nobody call Traditional Authority/Institution in Ugborodo as claimed by Brown Onajite Tesigimoje in his advertorial. Ugborodo Community constitution only accommodates Ugborodo Council of Elders, which is an Advisory body to Ugborodo Community Trust headed by the Eghare-Aja of Ugborodo.

*The Youth Wing he referred to is subordinate to the Ugborodo Community Trust, hence it’s not in the position of Youth Wing to liaise with third parties such as the International Oil Companies, IOCs, Governments, NNPC and other business concerns. The function of Ugborodo Youth Wing is purely employment distribution to the five communities that make up Ugborodo.

*Ugborodo is made up of five communities and not ‘Towns’ as insinuated by the author of the advertorial. The communities are internally independent on their own.

*In the absence of Ugborodo Community Trust, what we have as at today is a Management Committee of the Trust, which also plays the role of Ugborodo Community Trust. That is exactly what Barr. Austin Oborogbeyi is presently managing and often referred to as Ogidigben EPZ Interface Committee. This body plays the role of Ugborodo Community Trust, because it interfaces with ‘third parties’ like the IOCs, NNPC and government at all levels.

*The Traditional Authority/Institution Brown Tesigimoje referred to in his advertorial is the creation of one person, Olaja-Orori (Spiritual Head) and it’s not in our community constitution. He has no constitutional right to convene meetings on behalf of Ugborodo people. We must categorically state that whatever meeting he convened in the past or intends to convene is null and void.

*Brown Onajite Tesigimoje labored to trace his maternal ties to Ugborodo, but failed to tell Nigerians his paternal relationship. Thank God our ties to Ugborodo are paternally established.

The author of the advertorial can’t stand before Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC to discuss on behalf of Ugborodo because of his antecedent. If he goes further with his crisis-ridden publications, we will be compelled to publish his sordid past.

Our Plea:

We will once again seize this opportunity to appeal to Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to inaugurate the fresh inclusions in the Expanded EPZ Interface Committee. This will probably put a stop to unnecessary advertorials published by Brown Tesigimoje and his cohorts, afterwards he claimed he is one of the three nominees of Ajudaibo in the fresh additions to the EPZ Interface Committee yet to be inaugurated.

It’s our hope that all mischief makers trying to cause problem in Ugborodo will retrace their steps and follow the path of peace as well as progress.
