The Chairman of Warri Investment Development Committee, Barr. Tsewo Edema, says members of the committee are finalizing aspects of its formative stage, with a view to commence implementation of the policy-plan, geared towards socio-economic revival of Warri.
Barr. Edema, who dropped the hint Wednesday August 21 at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, after a meeting of members of Warri Investment Development Committee, disclosed that in the next few months, vocational training programme being put together by the Committee will take place, while industrialization will be revitalized in Warri South.
He emphasized: “We will set up a monitoring committee to make sure everyone who is involved in the vocational training programme, is actively working. This committee is a serious one, it is not politically based and not about personal interest.”
On moves to revitalize the industrial sector in Warri, Barr. Edema, explained: “We envisage that if the NPA is working, with ships coming in and going, we can link a railway to Warri from the railway at Ujevwu and another to the airport, that will call for expansion of the airport. We went to Abuja to see the Minister of Transportation and build a comprehensive plan. It’s a big vision and will need the state government's support.”
