South-South women celebrate 19 years anniversary, gives Glory to God

The South-South women organization, a non-governmental organization under the Ijaw Monitoring Group, (IMG) coordinated by Comrade Joseph Evah have celebrated their 19 years anniversary.

 

The anniversary held on the 24, August 2024 at JECO College in Owode Onirin area of Lagos State attracted different segment of the society.

 

In her welcome address, the president of the organization, Dr. Felida Essi, while welcoming and appreciating the guests present, she noted that the organization whose slogan is "Wind of positive change" was founded on the 7th November 2005, by their Grand-Patron, Comrade Joseph Evah in Lagos.

 

While stressing the importance of the organization, she stated that, the aims and objectives of the association is to empower the "GIRL CHILD" of the South-South region in Nigeria in particular and Diaspora in general.

 

While listing some of the activities carried out by the organization, she said, "We have visited some orphanage homes, including prison, Lepers colony in Ibiama, Rivers State with donated items and other supports".

 

"We were able to accomplish this feat with the assistance and support of our own Grand-Patron, Super Comrade Joseph Evah".

 

In response, the Coordinator of the IMG, Comrade Joseph Evah said, he deliberately invited the"DWARFS "to witness this celebration to prove to the World that there is no discrimination or segregation, noting that, today's celebration is part of Thanksgiving to the glory of God, stressing that, "Givers don't lack".

 

"I want to appreciate these beautiful women today for their determination, dedication and commitment and contributions to the progress and development of the Niger-Delta through this laudable organization "

 

While still thanking and appreciating the members of the organization, he used the medium to formally unveil Comrade Dr Felida Essi as a Woman of Fame into the "Nigeria Hall Of Fame" in recognition of her contributions to the progress and development of the Niger-Delta region as a Journalist, Writer, Author, Publisher, Women and Children rights advocates and South-South women leader.
