OML 150 Communities Consultative Forum Committee, under the leadership of Dr Monday Agbeyi has described a publication on the online platform of Warri based Newspaper, Fresh Angle International, purportedly claiming the dissolution of the Forum by them as misleading, mischievous and same have the trappings to cause serious anarchy in the various communities that make up the OML 150 Communities Consultative Forum in Warri, Delta State.
The leadership of the Forum noted this in a statement signed by its Vice Chairman Comrade Emmanuel Afotan, while reacting to the publication which according to the statement is a product of an imaginary fictional tale laden with baseless fantasising statements by some dissident and self-serving individuals lacking the locus to speak on the creation, operations and mandate of the Forum.
Noting that the purported dissolution of the Forum was ab initio null and void, the statement noted the Latin legal maxim, ‘Nemo dat quod non habet’, you cannot give what you don’t have, and cannot also collect what you have not given; thus, questioned how a hand full of dissident individuals bent on throwing the entire OML 150 Host Communities into chaos for their personal gains, can claim to have dissolve a Forum they did not set up in the first place.
While citing the letters of inauguration/introduction of the Dr Monday Agbeyi led OML 150 Communities Consultative Forum Committee by the Delta State Government through the State Ministry of Oil and Gas as well as that of the Palace of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Forum in their statement noted that the action of the individuals behind the said publication is an affront on the authority of the State Government and the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, urging the general public to disregard them and their antics.
