A stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party in Warri North Local Government Area, Comr. Jolomi Ikpere, has called on Ijaw Leaders of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North, under the aegis of Egbema Collective Political Front, ECPF, to remain calm, saying the Hon. Festus Ashima administration of Warri North, is finalizing plans to build a townhall in Opuama and housing project in Ogbeinbiri.
The ECPF, had expressed displeasure over what they described as uneven development going on in Warri North Local Government Area.
In a swift reaction to the position of ECPF, Comr. Ikpere, in a statement made available to newsmen Wednesday March 5, disclosed that apart from the townhall and housing projects, the Hon. Ashima administration, has earmarked for Opuama and Ogbeinbiri, walkway projects would soon be executed in other Ijaw communities across Warri North Local Government Area.
Ikpere, asserted: “You can’t start projects everywhere at once, just the way the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, didn’t start with all the local government areas at same time, it is a gradual process.
“Executing some projects in Itsekiri communities, doesn’t mean that people-driven projects, won’t get to Ijaw areas. The budgeting process and needs assessment, as it affects project execution in Ijaw communities, are at advanced stages.”
