21-year-old Fregene Emiko Emmanuel, who scored 323 in the recently held Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, says he chose Delta State University, Abraka, as his preferred institution to study Medicine and Surgery, because the Delta state government-owned ivory tower has good reputation for the course, besides proximity.
The aspiring medical practitioner, in an exclusive telephone chat with Fresh Angle International, in the early hours of Monday July 14, disclosed that his passion to save lives and give hope to the sick, influenced his desire to study medicine.
Fregene Emiko Emmanuel, who is a great grandson of Agbateyiniro and hails from Warri South Local Government Area, stated: “I had worked as a nurse in training just to make sure I did not deviate from my dream career choice.”
The Warri-born Fregene, who finished from Erejuwa II Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri in Warri South Local Government Area in the year 2024, with the following grades in SSCE; Marketing B3, Economics B3, Civic Education C5, English Language C4, Gen. Mathematics A1, Agricultural Science A1, Biology B3, Chemistry B3 and Physics B2, is upbeat about passing the post UTME of DELSU.
When asked: Are you seeking any form of scholarship or financial assistance to pursue your academic career? He responded: “Yes I am, sir.”
