Feelers reaching Fresh Angle International from Abuja, indicate that the election of National Officers for National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, would hold this Wednesday night at Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, despite reports that the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, has withdrawn the registration certificate of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN.

Reports last night, attributed to the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Omolara Esan, had hinged the purported withdrawal of NYCN registration certificate on “the Corporate Affairs Commission’s found serial violations of both the NYCN constitution and the provisions of CAMA 2020, particularly sections 833 and 834.”

The Commission (CAC) was quoted to have de-recognized all existing claims to leadership, trusteeship, and management within the organization, saying: “The action was taken pursuant to the powers conferred on the commission under sections 8(1)(c) and 8(1)(d) of the Companies And Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2020, following a comprehensive investigation into the affairs of the council, which has faced a prolonged leadership crisis spanning over eighteen (18) years.”

The Corporate Affairs Commission, reportedly constituted an Interim Management Committee, IMC to oversee and manage the affairs of the Council for a period of one (1) year, effective October 6, 2025.

But a Credible Source in Abuja, told This Flagship Niger Delta Online Newspaper, this morning that arrangements have been perfected for the election of new National Officers, with Comrade Babangida Onimisi Isah, favoured to emerge as the new President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

According to speculation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, alongside Edo State Governor, Lucky Okpebholo and Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, had endorsed Comrade Babangida Onimisi Isah (BOI) for the position of President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

The endorsement, followed a purported closed-door meeting held at the FCT Minister’s residence in Abuja, where discussions focused on youth leadership, national unity, and the need for credible representation within the Council.
