Sole Representative of The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to NNPCL/ JV Partners, Prince Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, has unveiled 303 shortlisted candidates for screening, ahead of the UNIBEN Consultancy/ Petro - Tracking in Benin City, Edo State.
The training, which is one of the two empowerment initiatives of the Warri Monarch’s Aide, is aimed at providing hands - on technical and vocational training for Itsekiris, in the area of pipeline inspection & NDT, natural gas processing, drilling operations, forklift operations, electrical & solar installation as well as crop production.
According to a statement released Wednesday June 24, Prince Edema, disclosed that the screening and authentication exercise, will run from Tuesday June 30 through Thursday July 2 at Gladwyn Building by Emirate Plaza (Opposite the palace field), Along Olu Palace Road, Warri, Delta State, between 9.00am and 4.00pm daily.
Whilst noting that each of the shortlisted candidates must provide Local Government Area Certificate of Origin, degree Certificate, Professional Certificate, or any relevant qualification demonstrating educational background, knowledge, or experience related to the chosen course of study or training programme and proof of Itsekiri heritage/indigene confirmation, Prince Edema, warned: “Incomplete documentation may affect the authentication process.”
The former two-time President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, explained that day 1 of the screening is for the first 101 shortlisted candidates, while days 2 and 3 are for the remaining 202 entrants.
“All shortlisted candidates will be notified via text messages/Email of their designated screening time. Candidates must report only on their assigned date. Candidates who present themselves outside their allocated schedule will not be attended to under any circumstances. Recall that Dr. Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, had on Friday April 10, begun moves to stimulate local entrepreneurship as well as provide hands - on technical and vocational training for Itsekiris, with two empowerment initiatives; the Itsekiri Indigenes SME Grant Programme and the Itsekiri Skills Training Programme.
While the SME Grant Programme, was primed to offer financial support to Itsekiri - owned startups as well as existing small and medium - sized enterprises, SMEs, the Skills Training Programme, is aimed at providing hands - on technical and vocational training across two delivery instructions.
