Warri Bye-Election: Trouble makers placed under surveillance

All persons who have been identified as potential ‘trouble makers’ with the intent of disrupting peace, before, during and after the April 26 Warri South Constituency 1 Bye-Election have been placed on surveillance, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

This much was part of a 12-point resolution reached by the Inter Agencies Consultative Committee on Election Security, ICCES held Tuesday April 18 at Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The ICCES which is chaired by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna M. Ibrahim also resolved to deploy adequate manpower to secure INEC staff, sensitive and non sensitive materials, votes, polling units, RACs and other identified flash points.

According to a statement made available to Fresh Angle International Wednesday April 19 by Delta State Commissioner of Police and Chairman of the ICCES, ZP Zanna M. Ibrahim, there shall be signing of peace accord by political parties and their candidates in compliance with electoral guidelines at the Government House Annexe, Warri on Thursday April 20 by 10:00 hours.

The statement added that a Joint Operation Centre, JOC where all stakeholders will send their representatives to monitor the election in the field will be set up at the Police Area Command Office in Warri.

Your Soar-Away International Tabloid can also report that security personnel involved in escorts of VIPs would be restricted from polling areas and places where election will be conducted, while there shall be restriction of boats and motor-bikes not engaged in the conduct of the poll.
