George joins Uduaghan, Manager as UN-POLAC awardees

Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Youths Development, Comrade (Ambassador) Hope George has become one of the Awardees of United Nations-Positive Livelihood Award Centre, POLAC after other distinguished Deltans like Senator James Manger, wife of former Delta State Governor, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan had received the award.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Comrade Hope George was presented with the award at the Delta State Governor’s Office Annexe in Warri by the UN-POLAC Nominee Supritendent, Jerry Abire.

Ambassador George, a one-time Secretary to Warri South Council Caretaker Committee, dedicated the UN-POLAC award to his Principal, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, noting that youths across Delta State have given him peaceful atmosphere to contribute towards the development of the State.

While noting that his modest achievement has led to Delta State producing a member of the current South-South caucaus for youths parliament in Nigeria.

The Governor’s Aide appealed to youths in Delta State to shun social vices, embrace peace and imbibe the cultute of self believe in order to achieve greater heights.

The UN-POLAC Nominee Superintendent, Jerry Abire in a remark, admonished Niger Delta Youths to emulate Ambassador Hope George, saying the main objective of the award is to fashion ways of achieving peace building around the world.

Jerry Abire noted that the UN-POLAC organization has been in Nigeria since 2001 and stressed that Ambassador George was conferred with the peace award in pursuant of the United Nations resolution 53/15 of November 20, 1997.
