Ifiekporo Community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State has stressed that the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Jetty where an undisclosed Naval Rating reportedly killed an Ifiekporo youth, Misan Agbolu and a certain Chris Gbogidi from Ekpan, is in Ifiekporo Community, Warri South Local Government Area and not Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area.
According to Public Relations Officer of Ifiekporo Youth Executive, Tuoyo Ebigbeyi, the clarification became necessary following a resolution passed by the Delta State House of Assembly, calling on Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to set up a judicial panel of inquiry to investigate the killing of the two youths.
The motion moved by the member representing Uvwie Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Efe Ofobruku under matters of urgent public importance, was seconded by the member representing Warri South Constituency II, Hon. Dennis Omovie.
While commending the Delta State legislature for the resolution, the Ifiekporo Community Youth Image Maker, stressed that it was imperative to set the records straight so as not to mislead the public and create unnecessary communal strife between the WRPC Jetty host community, Ifiekporo and neighbouring Ekpan community.
