The Kano State Hisbah Board has revealed that out of the 96 beggars arrested in May this year for allegedly violating the law banning street begging in the State capital, 11are from neighbouring Niger Republic, even as It was gathered that most of the beggers are from Katsina, Jigawa as well as Bauchi States.
Speaking Thursday June 1 during a press briefing in Kano, one of the Anti Begging Officials, Malam Dahiru Muhammed explained that 27 of the 96 beggars were children, while 69 were adults.
Fresh Angle International learnt that the beggers were arrested in areas such as State Road, Saban Gari Area and Kano Metropolise.
