Bishop Odutemu Odiboroghene of Ughelli Diocese of the Anglican Communion has charged Christian clerics, politicians, traditional rulers and community heads to repent from evil ways if they intend to live long.
The Anglican cleric who gave the charge at Otor-Orere, Olomu in Ughelli South local government during the 96th year birthday celebration/25 year coronation anniversary of the Ovie of Olomu kingdom, accused “the church of not telling politicians the truth as a result of brown envelopes,” adding that “instead of telling the truth, the church tries to colour issues to suit the interest of a group or persons.”
While pleading with the Olomu monarch “to continue in his righteous path”, Bishop Odiboroghene enjoined politicians to allow the vote of electorates count during elections.
Ijaw National leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark in a remark advised the monarch to unite everyone in his domain within the next four years when he will be 100 years old.
The celebrant, His Royal Majesty, Ogbon R.L. Oghoro Ogoni 1, the Ovie of Olomu Kingdom called for continued support from his subjects in his resolve to move the kingdom forward, even as he stressed the need for politicians to shun corruption to enable the country develop.
