Tidi describes departed Okere-Urhobo Monarch as a disciplinarian

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, on Monday August 12, descried the late Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo, Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba, Idama II, as a disciplinarian, gentleman to the core and one who stood for integrity, especially during his days as academic in Delta State University, Abraka.

Dr. Tidi who spoke glowingly about the departed Monarch when he led Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Chief Divine Iniovosa, Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Jude Onovughe Igherebuo , Deputy Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Orits Eyikimi, Secretary to Warri South local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, the Council’s Supervisors and Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Comrade Douglas Akambe on  a condolence visit to the Okere-Urhobo people, stated that as a young man growing up, he looked up to the late Prof. Okumagba in terms of academic pursuit.

The Warri South Chairman averred that the departed Monarch was in support of unity among the various ethnic groups living in Warri and spoke of the need to immortalize him, so as to encourage younger ones to emulate his stance on discipline and integrity.

In his response, head of Okumagba dynasty and prominent Okere –Urhobo Chief, Emmanuel Okumagba, described the presence of Dr. Tidi and his entourage as eloquent testimony of the regard the local government council has for the kingdom.

Chief Okumagba, while stating that Late Prof. Paul Okumagba never allowed short cuts to success in his time as an academician, linked the departed Monarch’s biological affinity to Ugbuwangue and Kiagbodo communities.

He assured the Warri South Council delegation that they would be duly informed of the rite of passage of the departed Monarch and noted that more assistance is expected from the council authority in the same regard.

Regent of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Omovie, Chief Bright Okumagba and Rev. David Otofia were among leaders of Okere-Urhobo present during the condolence visit.
