The Otota (spokesman) of Okere- Urhobo Kingdom in Warri South local government, Chief Wilson Eboh has warned members of the newly elected executive of Okere- Urhobo Youth Development Movement that it is unconstitutional in the Kingdom for any of them to be hired or recruited as mercenaries or thugs to go and fight in other communities.

Chief Eboh who cited article 20 of the community constitution as it affects discipline also made it clear that members of the movement shall not harass, intimidate developers, contractors and companies working in the Kingdom with intent to collect money from them.
The Otota who also doubles as the traditional prime minister of the kingdom handed down the warning in Warri, during the inauguration and swearing-in of a new executive of  Okere- Urhobo Youth Development Movement.

While urging members of the new executive of the youth movement to raise funds by way of appeals from individuals, companies and government parastatals in a bid to ensure development of the kingdom, Chief Eboh enjoined them to foster closer relationship with neighbouring communities.
Secretary General of Okere- Urhobo Kingdom, Chief D. B. O Opoggen in a remark at the ceremony commended the peaceful conduct of the election that produced members of the youth movement executive and described it as a sign that sanity has come to the Kingdom.

Newly sworn- in chairman of Okere- Urhobo Youth Development Movement, Cyril Omosowhofa Eboh in his acceptance speech, acknowledged problems confronting youths in Okere- Urhobo, particularly “in relation to disunity, political neglect, lack of job opportunities, youth empowerment and other issues of community disintegration,” and vowed that his vision for the kingdom is to foster the spirit of oneness, love and peace among the youths as well as members of Okere- Urhobo Development Movement.

While promising to hold orientation programmes and seminar for vocational training for youths in the kingdom, Cyril Eboh revealed plans by his leadership to “create scholarship scheme through the help of the management committee and other constituted authority within and outside the community”.
Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Special Duties, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru in a telephone chat in reaction to the inauguration commended members of the electoral committee for the peaceful conduct of the election as well as youths of Okere- Urhobo for sustaining peace in the area.

The governor’s aide enjoined the newly inaugurated members to key into the state government 3 point agenda of peace and security, human capital as well as infrastructural development so as to attract more development to the Kingdom.

Our Correspondent reports that other members of the newly inaugurated executive of the 12- man Okere- Urhobo Youth Development Movement are:  Jefferson Avwerosuo, Vice Chairman, Dr. Ejakpovi Eburu, Secretary, Glory Eyekpimi, Assistant Secretary, Sobande Nelson, Treasurer, Omosohwofa Duke, Auditor, Nathaniel Okumagba, Financial Secretary, Lawson Okumagba, Organizing/ Welfare Secretary, Austin Eyekpimi, PRO, Clark Awuri, Sanitary, Ovoke Omagbemi, Cultural and Okpako Eboh, Chief whip.

A member of Warri South Local Government Transition Committee, Mr. Dave Akporiaye, Chairman of Okere- Urhobo Community Development Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Eminokanju as well as Mr. Ochuko Maduku, member of Delta State youth development are among personalities that graced the ceremony.
