Delta born 21-year old, Goddowell Irhueruoghene Ajakpofe whose mother , Mrs. Beatrice Ajakpofe recently raised alarm over his where-about has returned to Warri, DeltaState from Liberia after Fresh Angle exclusively reported his controversial departure and Officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Warri intervened.
Goddowell Irhuerhuoghene Ajakpofe who spoke to Fresh Angle shortly after he was handed over to his parents at the office of the NSCDC Area Command in Warri, Warri South Local Government Council, said he decided to return to Nigeria when he noticed that "he will just be wasting his time doing nothing meaningful in Liberia".
According to him, the woman who trafficked him to Liberia hinted him when they were on-board an aero-plane on their way to Liberia that she was going to hand him over to another woman on arrival contrary to an earlier agreement that he was going there to learn a trade and upon graduation, he would be empowered to set up his own business.
He said the woman finally handed him over to another woman who kept him in a "motel". According to him, his duty at the “motel” is to check-in guests who usually come there to satisfy their sexual urge after which, he will be made to clean up the rooms.
Goddowell Ajakpofe explained further that he later fell sick but the woman he was handed over to managed to buy him drugs "only once". He noted that when the illness became very serious coupled with the fact that he was missing his parents as well as siblings in Nigeria, he decided to call his parents in Nigeria but the woman whom he was under her custody seized the mobile phone from him thus rendering him incommunicado.
According to him, the woman’s action infuriated him and prompted his decision to demand his return to Nigeria, a demand which made his custodian( the woman) to order him to carry his bag containing his personal belongings and she subsequently handed him over back to the woman who brought him from Nigeria to Liberia.
.
Mother of the 21-year old boy who expressed joy that his son has been returned to Nigeria said "she can now sleep with her eyes closed". She said her husband is free to join forces with his boss against her, stressing however that she only did what a mother ought to do.
Fresh Angle can however report that authorities of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Warri South Local Government Area has formally handed the 21-year old boy over to his parents in the presence of Mr. Harrison Iriferita after an earlier ultimatum of 21 days given to him on Friday October 18,2013.
A Senior Officer of the NSCDC who spoke exclusively to Our Senior Correspondent explained that they extended the date for Mr. Harrison Iriferita to return the boy and hand him over to their office ”to give him the benefit of doubt".
It will recalled that authorities of the NSCDC Warri gave Mr. Harrison Iriferita a maximum of 21 days and a minimum of fourteen days following an alarm raised by Mrs. Beatrice Ajakpofe to provide Goddowell Ajakpofe after Mr. Iriferita allegedly facilitated Goddowell Ajakpofe’s trafficking to Liberia with the blessing of his father, Mr. Michael Ajakpofe for purported greener pasture.
