A University Don, Prof. Godini Gabriel Dara says any religion that hacks down trees is dangerous.
Prof. Dara, who is a substansive vice chancellor to Delta State University, Abraka and University of Ibadan made the declaration in an interview he granted Delta Rainbow Television recently in Warri.
According to the PDP chieftain, whenever Nigerians travel to Israel on pilgrimage what they go to visit is a shrine, stressing that a shrine is a sacred place and a holy environment.
He also warned against the destruction of shrines, declaring that those who destroy shrines should be arrested “because shrines are artifacts”.
Prof. Dara opined that trees were the first occupant of earth before man came into being, just as he dispelled insinuations that trees attract witches.
