The newly sworn-in President of Association of Itsekiri Staff in DESOPADEC, Yalaju Bawo has assured that members of his executive will put the interests of members of AISID first in all issues during their tenure.
Our Correspondent reports that the AISID President, Yalaju Bawo made the promise Friday April 29 during the swearing-in of new AISID executive in Warri, Delta State.
The inauguration which was officiated by the Chairman Board of Trustee, BOT as well as the Legal Adviser to the DESOPADEC Chairman, Barr. Tsewor Edema, was witnessed by President of DESOPADEC Urhobo Staff Association, DUSA, Mr. Oriogbe Emdemu, the Secretary, Mr. Emesejiroro Paul as well as the President of DESOPADEC Ndokwa Staff Association, DNSA, Engr. Stanley Taboweh. Others are President of DESOPADEC Ijaw Staff Association, Mr. Fred Boye, President of DESOPADEC Isoko Staff Association, Engr. Efe-Aluta Oghale, DESOPADEC Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Engr. Oritsetimiyin Victor Wood, Head of Audit, DESOPADEC, Pastor Emmanuel Mene, Divisional Head, Planning, Research and Statistics DESOPADEC, Mr. Tony Omanukun, Head of Department Planning, Research and Statistics, DESOPADEC, Mrs. Hope Keka, the Divisional Head Community Development, DESOPADEC, Mr. Elaye Azosibe and the Personal Assistant to DESOPADEC Chairman, Mr. Ukalami Ekpoto.

Yalaju Bawo while promising to take into account their interests on any issue, enjoined them to feel free to share ideas that will move the association forward, promising that his administration will ensure accountability and transparency.
The outgoing President, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, prior to the handing over of official document to the new President, enumerated his administration’s achievements to include drafting AISID constitution, opening a website and social media platform, constituting DESOPADEC Nationality Staff Congress. According to him, he stood for justice for both the Itsekiri Nation and other ethnic Nationalities during his tenure and advised the newly elected executive to improve on where his administration stopped.
The Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistic DESOPADEC, Engr. Oritsetimiyin Victor Wood, while commending the past President for the smooth transition of AISID Executive urged the new executive to do same when it is their turn to hand over.
He noted that in his experience of getting involved in Itsekiri Nation, there are those who will try to take the nation backward through rumour mongering and advised the new executive to be on guard, noting that there will be challenges but expressed optimism that the present administration will bring a lot of development to AISID and the Itsekiri Nation.

Roseline Edema Ojogri.
