The Movement for the Protection of Iwere Homeland, Development and History, MPIHDH has declared, “we won’t be intimidated by the forces of darkness who have continued to hold the destinies of our people down over the years.”
MPIHDH made the declaration through a Press Statement made available exclusively to Fresh Angle International Monday May 9 in Warri, Delta State.
The group in the statement signed by several of its members, including Comrade Daniel Arieko, Edwin Kpenosen,Kpere Daibo, Dickson Maku, Ben Eburajolo and Comrade Dennis Mene among others, condemned the attack of their National President, Comrade James Ereku Ologhojoba Aderejor and a host of others on April 26, 2016 at the High Court, Sapele, Delta State, describing the attack as “dastardly acts of brutality”.
While sympathizing with the families and friends of the victims, MPIHDH noted that the attack “seems well planned and well coordinated act by the enemies of our Kingdom/ Iwere Nation, to eliminate our freedom fighters, whose continuous push for equity and development has put the evil ones on their toes recently.”
They stated their confidence in the law enforcement agency to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators. According to them, “we are confident that the law enforcement authorities will soon get the perpetrators responsible for this contemptible act and bring them all to book with the full force of the law.”
The group appealed to their members to remain calm in this moment of “naturally charged emotions”, even as they pledged their “renewed commitment to an Itsekiri Nation where all sons/daughters can fully harness their God-given potentials for self actualization and community development, unalloyed support and loyalty to the pristine throne of the Olu of Warri and the Palace pronouncements, an egalitarian society where the collective prosperity and welfare of our people are fully guaranteed and everyone will be gainfully employed and paid the commensurate wages without working as slaves for their fellow brothers in their own homeland.”
