Legal Practitioner and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Warri South Constituency1 in the April 11, 2015 Governorship and House of Assembly Polls, Barr. Robinson Ariyo has taken a swipe at the so called Niger Delta agitators, declaring that there is no Niger Delta as at today, but personal struggle of a particular ethnic group.

The Community Development Consultant cum politician, in a statement made available exclusively to Fresh Angle International asserted, “the region is driven by strategies and agenda that do not in any way reflect its wealth. Where a particular ethnic Nationality desires clout, it calls its personal struggle, Niger Delta struggle, but as soon as the struggle yields result, no be eye wen dem use eat Eba dem take dey divide meat”.

He added, “these are struggles for which no other ethnic Nationality is consulted, but may have to suffer the consequences, certainly never the benefits. We cry of marginalization within the Nigerian State and yet when we examine how we relate to ourselves at the regional level, it is no different. When an area that does not produce oil and gas produce a governor, the resources from the areas that produce oil is used to develop the non-producing area at the expense of the producing areas. The bills are pushed in and doctored to redefine oil producing to mean impacted or potentially oil producing”.

Barr. Ariyo canvassed for “a proper Niger Delta Regional Conference to develop a proper agenda and strategy”, just as he noted that presently, each ethnic Nationality within the geopolitical area called the Niger Delta gets its own agenda with no central point of
