Olu of Warri assures NUT of continuous support

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli has assured members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Warri South Local Government chapter, Delta State of his continuous support in any of their activities that will promote peace, teaching and learning of pupils and students.

The Warri Monarch made the remark Thursday May 19, 2016 during a courtesy visit by the NUT, Warri South chapter at his Palace in Warri, Delta State.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the Olu appealed to the teachers to put in their best in order to ensure quality education and good moral up-bringing of children in the society.

In his remark, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Warri South Chapter, Comrade Ishmael Confidence Ikuejawa explained that they came to pay homage to the Olu of Warri, to show their loyalty to him as the number one person in Warri Kingdom, adding that no other person can be more Itsekiri than the Olu, who he asserted is the Chief Custodian of the tradition of Itsekiri people.

The Warri South NUT Chairman enjoined the Federal Government to introduce palliative measures that will cushion the effect of the fuel price hike.

Comrade Ishmael Ikuejawa advised teachers not to be perturbed, but cooperate with the NUT until they achieve their desired goals.

According to him, if the removal of fuel subsidy will bring the desired development, the government should use the proceeds judiciously.
