Assistant Coach of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Kogi United, Musa Abubakar is positive ahead of his side's tie against former club, Adamawa United in the Matchday 10 of the league, saying it will be tough but he has “faith” his side can claim a good result.

Adamawa United will host Kogi United at the Atiku Abubakar Stadium, Fufore tomorrow, Saturday May 20 in continuation of the 'most important league' in Nigeria.

Abubakar will have to plot his way past an Adamawa side that he captained and guided to top flight between 2005 and 2008.

He admitted that emotions and feelings of past memories with his former employer would be relived on Saturday but has decided to focus on getting a good result for Kogi United, a feat he believed is a possibility.

"It's a special game for me and I'm excited by the prospect of facing Adamawa United for the first time since leaving here as a player," Abubakar told the club official website. I had fond memories and exciting moments here as a player, it's always staying with me.

It's also exciting for me to return to Adamawa now, but it's only a game and we want to be the best team against them tomorrow, it's going to be a tough game but we have faith to win here," the former Sunshine Stars' forward said.

Asked about Kogi United's performance in the ongoing league season, 'Manaman' as Coach Abubakar fondly called by friends noted that it has not been what they wanted but expressed optimism the club would return to winning streaks soon.

“Well it has not been a good start for us, we struggled a bit at the start but we are gradually stabilizing with how we want to play. The feeling is all positive, the team is good physically, we are fresh, objectives are very close now, and all the players understand that by giving their all the team can be at its best, that's the approach and we are optimistic the club would get even better soon with all hands on deck and supports from every stakeholders,” he said.
