The chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Congress APC, in Okpe Local Government Area, Hon. Eric Afe, aka Agbaranugo has rejected the outcome of the local government election held on Saturday January 6, 2018, Fresh Angle International can report.
Afe, who spoke to Journalists, said the exercise was marred with irregularities, violence in Okpe local government, as about 7 members and agents of All Progressives Congress, APC were shot and seriously injured.
“Though the election was peaceful in few parts of Okpe, but I can tell you that there were massive rigging, our members and agents of APC were manhandled at the various polling units. As the APC chairmanship candidate in Okpe, I am calling on the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DSIEC to cancel Okpe results to allow a fresh election”.
Afe, who had expressed confidence to win the chairmanship election in a free and fair exercise lamented that the election in Okpe was not credible and accused the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DSIEC of compromise.
“I have promised the people of Okpe quality leadership if elected next chairman, but the hope of Okpe people was dashed on Saturday January 6, as they were not allowed to cast their votes for me and APC, three things characterized the election in Okpe, non-availability of materials, irregularities and violence, this is not acceptable, the chairmanship election in Okpe be cancelled”.
