The Chairman Board of Trustees, HOSTCOM Delta North Chief A.O. Okowa says his mission is to maintain peace and reconciliation between the Hon. Benjamin Iwetan group and the Egedegbe group of HOSTCOM, Delta State.
Chief A.O. Okowa, father of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa made the statement in Effurun, Delta State during a meeting held with the Benjamin Iwetan leadership of HOSTCOM Wednesday April 18.
According to him, “we are on a peace mission. Delta State has been very peaceful. Lack of peace should not start with us HOSTCOM. Our aim today is to bring the two groups together so that we can register with CAC, because if we don’t, we are doing illegal business”.
Delta State HOSTCOM Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Iwetan in his reaction, stated, “what you see here is our structure, we are the authentic HOSTCOM, we are not trouble makers, neither are we lazy. The association is legitimately registered with CAC, it has all certified copy. We have been in and out of court and still preparing to go to court. This committee was set up barely 2 weeks ago. We have written series of letters to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and all relevant authorities to address this issue, but all fell on deaf ears. The last letter was written October 16, 2017 and as it is now, we are planning a mass protest to Government House”.
The Secretary of HOSTCOM, Ndokwa Nation, Mr. Ben said, “this is the beginning of better things in the history of HOSTCOM in Delta State. I will not say we are not aware of the happenings in HOSTCOM. We are here to collate facts from the Benjamin Iwetan group and also from the Egedegbe group. The proceedings of this meeting will get to Asaba. If you know Governor Okowa as we do, you will know that he is a very intelligent man that believe in facts”.
