Authorities of Warri South Local Government Council have begun official administration of Ogbe-Ijoh Market, Warri, with the inauguration of a nine-member management committee chaired by one Godwin K. Eneghan.
Inaugurating the Ogbe-Ijoh Market Committee Wednesday January 23, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi cautioned members of the committee not to take the laws into their hands.
The Warri South Local Government Boss mentioned the regulation of hawking and squatting, maintenance of road/culverts in the market, environmental sanitation as well as security of lives and properties as areas the market management committee will focus on.
The nine-member committee which has a civil servant, Mr. Michael Jemine Pajiah as Secretary, also has Mrs. Queen Ajemitolu, Mr. Solomon Matthew, Mr. Omega Oyema and Mr. Sunny Mabiaku as members.
Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Godwin Eneghan in his response, assured authorities of Warri South Local Government Council that they will work hard to ensure sustenance of peace in and around the market.
Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, the Council ‘s Supervisor for Education, Chief Linda Ikpuri, Supervisor for Agriculture, Primary Health Care and Environment, Henry Mayuku, Shegue Gbeneso and Patricia Edun respectively as well as Head of Personnel Management, Mrs. Remi Omatsuli, were among executive members of the council at the inauguration ceremony.
