National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, has won the second edition of the Federal Education Sector Games, FEDUGAM, Our Kogi State Correspondent reports.
The event which came to an end in grand style at Lokoja, Kogi State capital, saw NOUN emerging overall winner with 37 medals.
Declaring the five-day FEDUGAM closed at the Confluence Township Stadium in Lokoja, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, who was represented by the Chairman FEDUGAM Steering Committee, Auwalu Koko, thanked the Kogi State Government for providing conducive environment during the competition.
While congratulating National Open University of Nigeria for emerging overall champion with 15 Gold, 17 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, the minister commended participating agencies for their high level of professionalism.
He disclosed that henceforth, additional sporting activities will be introduced to the games.
In his closing remarks, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Salisu Ogu, said the sports fiesta served as avenue for discovering of talents that would represent the country in future international competitions.
