Romelu Lukaku : Mourinho’s first tactical blunder on Chelsea return
Romelu Lukaku

The frenzy that greeted the second coming of Chelsea’s gaffer, Jose Mourinho by the club’s fans across the globe is apparently waning by the day considering the unconvincing start of the Blues in the EUFA Champions league and the Barclay’s Premier league, this is also not forgetting the painful defeat to Bayern Munich in the EUFA Super Cup for the second time, after last year’s lose to Athletico Madrid in the same EUFA season opener.

Technically sound as Mourinho’s defence of Chelsea shaky start to the season might be, it must be said that the Portuguese master tactician appears to have made wrong decision by loaning Romelu Lukaku, the man Chelsea perfectly described as the new Didier Drogba, when it first signed him from a Belgian top division club.

The Belgian International is young, big, physical, aerially strong, skillful, uses both legs and has the ability to shoot from any range.

It is on record that when Chelsea loaned Lukaku to West Bromwich Albion in the 2012- 2013 season, the young Belgian who was mostly featured as a sub while in West Brom scored a total of 17 goals in all competitions that season and even scored goals in Chelsea’s pre season friendlies.

Lukaku’s sterling performances and goal scoring form in a few matches for Everton where he has been loaned to in the 2013- 2014 season when Chelsea’s front men: Torres, Eto’ and Ba are still struggling are no doubt evidences that Jose Mourinho and indeed Chelsea management have made a tactical blunder by releasing him on loan for a second year despite gaining enough premiership experience as well as International caps for his native Belgium.
