Chibok Girls: Redouble your efforts, Itsekiri graduates tell FG
Miss Alero Tenumah

The National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG has restated its earlier call on the federal government to ensure the release of the over 200 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram, emphasizing that the whole saga should not end as mere jamboree.

President of the association, Miss Alero Tenumah who made the call in a telephone chat from Abuja declared that should  the release of the abducted girls be delayed further, the girls may continue to undergo trauma that may affect their psyche even when they eventually get their  desired freedom.

According to Miss Tenumah, while the federal government should sharpen its intelligence machinery in the fight against terrorism, the security agencies should make sure that our territorial borders, especially the one bordering Cameroon, Chad and Niger Republic are properly protected.

The Itsekiri graduates had earlier cautioned the federal and state governments, political parties, groups and other stakeholders not to turn the issue of the Chibok missing school girls into another social jamboree, stressing that if the spate of organized protests and politicization of the abduction is not properly managed, the girls may not be found.
